No 18 Cottage Home, Iowa Monday afternoon March 27th /65 My Dear Husband; This day as all other Monday's has brought its work, washing is done, and I improve the few minutes I have to spare in talking to you, which is my highest pleasure, now that you are away.  In a few minutes, when father gets the horse ("Kit") ready I I am going over to Mr. Fredrigel's the school director of the Barlow district, he lives on this side the creek.  I failed to get the school in Des Moines.  The Barlow district is so large that they talk of having two schools.  I applied for the Barlow school if it is divided, and if it is not, I will take it, if they will let me have it, at twenty five dollars per month. Wednesday Morning 29th 7 O'clock.  Yesterday evening I received a rich treat in the form of two letters, "from husband" and one from Sister Libbie.  I was very much rejoiced to hear of your welfare again, as it had been two weeks since I had a letter from you, and we are hearing rumors that they have had a fight down to Mobile; which of course causes me
